The initiative, supported by patron Dr. Angela Merkel and integration commissioner Aydan Özoğuz, aims to promote the recognition, appreciation and inclusion of diversity in corporate culture in Germany. Organizations should create a work environment that is free of prejudice.
All employees should be valued – irrespective of gender, nationality, ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age, sexual orientation and identity.
The Diversity Charter was established by Daimler, BP Europa SE, Deutsche Bank and Deutsche Telekom. More than 2,000 companies and public institutions have already signed the Diversity Charter and new signatories are being added on an ongoing basis. www.charta-der-vielfalt.de/en
