Losenstein: The e-cars are rolling in!

As early as March 2019, it was revealed that a large part of the CO2 pollution at the Losenstein site is caused by transport. “By using e-mobility for work trips, we saw great potential to reduce the site’s CO2 emissions. That was the starting point for the e-mobility campaign,” explains Albert Koppenberger, plant maintenance.

“For WEBER-HYDRAULIK, the topics of environmental protection and sustainability are of great concern, and at the same time there are very attractive e-mobility subsidies in Austria. We wanted to make these benefits available to all employees,” says Willi Pranzl, employee works council at the Losenstein site. The result was a very attractive offer for employees to lease an e-car through the company. “The leasing model is cheaper than individuals would ever get privately due to the fleet discount. For many, this was a unique opportunity that was also very well received,” says Pranzl, pleased with the lively participation.

Almost 70 employees have taken advantage of the attractive offer and are now taking delivery of their e-cars on an ongoing basis. In addition, there is the option of charging the e-cars at the site. Ten charging stations, each with two charging points, have been erected for this purpose.

“Due to our special location in the Ennstal, we have many employees who commute to work. We can offer them a significant advantage with the e-cars and the possibility of charging them at the site. This also makes us attractive as an employer beyond the borders of the Enns Valley and contributes to employee loyalty,” says Workers’ Council member Franz Damhofer, explaining the advantages of the offer.

“All in all, an all-round successful campaign that offers many benefits for both our colleagues and the company,” concludes Kerstin Uitz, who was in charge of implementation.
