Girls Future Day in Güglingen

On April 27, 2023, our training center opened its doors to some participants of this year’s Girls’ Day. There, the young women got an insight into our technical apprenticeships and the various technologies and production methods.

The event began with a warm welcome from Christopher Aldinger, head of industrial training. He explained to the participants what they would be allowed to make themselves that day: a cube made of aluminum, a brass key ring and a photo holder.

Then they got to work. The motivated girls each chose a workbench and could hardly be stopped. With the support of our trainees, they diligently measured, marked, grained, drilled, engraved, filed, finished, threaded and assembled.

With great skill and creativity, the participants then produced their workpieces, patiently supported by our trainees, who explained each step and helped where necessary. At the end of the day, the girls had each produced three workpieces and were very pleased with their results.

After everyone had cleaned up their workstations and washed their hands, the participants were given a small farewell gift by Christopher Aldinger, Hagen Gerstenlauer and the apprentices.

“We thought it was great that we were able to give the girls an insight into our technical apprenticeships and hope that they will continue to be enthusiastic about technology.”

Christopher Aldinger, Manager technical training department (WEBER-HYDRAULIK GMBH Güglingen)

All in all, Girls’ Day was a complete success and we are already looking forward to participating again next year to show that we as a company have a great interest in inspiring and promoting young women for technical professions. Maybe we will see some of the participants again next year as apprentices with us!
