WEBER-HYDRAULIK welcomes new apprentices

Start of training year 2023

Güglingen, 14 September 2023.                WEBER-HYDRAULIK starts the new training year with a total of 31 trainees at three locations. The young men and women are starting their careers in nine different professions. Managing director and granddaughter of the founder, Christine Grotz, is enthusiastic about the motivation of the young trainees.

With a lot of curiosity and enthusiasm, but also a little nervousness, the majority of the 18 trainees started at the Group’s headquarters in Güglingen, Germany. The new colleagues were warmly welcomed to their new workplace by the management, the responsible trainers and the HR team. “We are very happy that we could inspire so many young people for an apprenticeship at WEBER-HYDRAULIK and wish them a good start in their new life phase”, says Christine Grotz. On their first day, the future industrial mechanics, cutting machine operators, electronics technicians for industrial engineering, IT specialists for system integration, industrial clerks, warehouse logistics specialists and metal technology specialists met their trainers, the works council and the management. The trainees were given a guided tour of the administration building and production facilities, and were able to explore the company grounds during a company rally. On the following working days, safety instructions and training on the machines are planned. Getting to know each other games and a hike together are also part of the first period. Even before the official start of training, the new apprentices had the opportunity to get to know each other at a barbecue in August, together with their parents and future colleagues.

New colleagues also in Lower Bavaria and Austria

At the Wörth an der Isar site in Lower Bavaria, an IT specialist for systems integration was welcomed by the local HR team, the trainer and the site manager. A larger group gathered at the Losenstein site in Austria, where a total of ten apprentices began their training in the fields of metalworking and mechatronics automation technology as well as industrial clerk. During their first week at WEBER-HYDRAULIK, the Austrian apprentices can look forward to a special highlight: Together with the apprentices of the second year, there will be get-to-know-you days where the young colleagues can get to know each other and their new employer better. Heike Bauseler, Head of Human Resources at WEBER-HYDRAULIK, is also very happy about the new blood in the company: “Training and promoting young talent is an existential factor in the fight against the shortage of skilled workers and is a matter of personal importance to me. So far, we have found our new trainees to be dedicated and eager to learn. Digital natives also bring a whole new set of skills to the table. For example, in their use of new technologies and in their understanding of flexibility. As is so often the case, we can learn from each other.
