RESCUE DAYS 2018 at the Bostalsee

“Gaping explicitly allowed” – this was the slogan that numerous media outlets used this year when reporting on RESCUE DAYS in the St. Wendel region (Saarland).

There was lots to see on the recreation ground right by the Bostalsee, which hosted the band
“Die Toten Hosen” just a few weeks before.

It was already the 16th time that around 600 participants from more than 30 countries met for training on the latest techniques for accident rescue. Around 80 trainers from WEBER RESCUE SYSTEMS were available for the three days for this.

“A great event with huge benefits! Fantastic conversations with others and really lots of fun. It was great to be able to practice on zero series vehicles. Thanks a lot!”, said one participant on the Saturday evening after the event.

Speaking of zero series vehicles: They were provided by OPEL, Mercedes, Renault, BMW and MAN
this year.

Alongside the RESCUE DAYS, the third fire brigade days also took place in the St. Wendel region
and the accompanying exhibition really made an impression. From t-shirts to completely equipped fire engines, everything you could possibly wish for in the fire fighting field was there. “Around 25,000 visitors took advantage of the three days to get insights”, said Heiko Schneider, one of the two chief organisers from the region, happily.

The co-operation with the aid organisations from the St. Wendel region, without whom an event of this size could not be held, worked excellently and majorly contributed to the success of the event.
A big thank you to all volunteer helpers!

RESCUE DAYS will be returning to Baden-Württemberg next year. 16 years after the first event
in Heilbronn, you’ll be hosted in the TCRH Mosbach, a part of the former Neckartal barracks that is run by the BRH Bundesverband Rettungshunde (German Search and Rescue Dogs Association).
