20 years of RESCUE DAYS

From September 21 to 24, the 20th rescueDAYS took place at the Bostalsee in Saarland. For the anniversary WEBER RESCUE SYSTEMS in cooperation with the district of St. Wendel came up with a lot. An action-packed and interesting program awaited the visitors!

The international rescueDAYS are the world’s largest training event for technical assistance. For the past 20 years they have been held at different locations in Germany. This year was an exception – due to the perfect infrastructure the rescueDAYS return to the Bostalsee in the anniversary year.

“The rescueDAYS are more than just a professional development opportunity. They create a platform where experts from different fields can learn from each other and network while dealing with realistic mission scenarios,” says Bernhard Obermayr, Managing Director of WEBER RESCUE SYSTEMS.

A comprehensive training program, interesting technical presentations and an exciting program of social events.

In addition to rescueDAYS ORIGINAL, rescueDAYS PLUS was included in the training program for the first time. The focus was on additional rescue scenarios such as truck and bus rescues and agricultural vehicle accidents. Both training sessions lasted two days each, which meant that each participant had the opportunity to attend rescueDAYS either on Thursday and Friday or on Saturday and Sunday. As in previous years, the sessions were held in German and English. In preparation, all participants received a digital handout with the seminar content in advance. On September 22 and 23, the rescueDAYS SYMPOSIUM was held with a series of interesting presentations by renowned fire service experts.

Parallel to the rescueDAYS, there was a lot going on at the Bostalsee: For the fourth time, the fire brigade days of the district of St. Wedel took place here with an exhibition of more than 60,000 m². The patron of the event was Prime Minister Anke Rehlinger.

Digital solutions for fire departments and emergency organizations – WEBER RESCUE SYSTEMS is considered a pioneer of digitalization in rescue services

In addition to the digital functions of the new battery-powered rescue equipment generation SMART FORCE, the WEBER RESCUE SYSTEMS brands now offer numerous digital solutions for alerting, management and mission support. The extensive digital product range was presented in its own small showroom during the rescueDAYS.

Crashing with system

For this year’s rescueDAYS about 200 vehicles were needed as training objects. Some of them were prepared on site with the crash system developed by WEBER RESCUE. The patented, mobile device, which can be transported by truck, can be used to simulate all types of accidents, such as frontal, side, roof or rear-end collisions. This works for cars and vans, but also for truck cabins.

“With our crash system, we enable practical training based on accident scenarios that occur on the roads every day. It is also ideal for public relations demonstrations and training,” says Event Manager Bernd Dürr.
