The problem solvers

Güglingen, 14. October 2022.                        WEBER-HYDRAULIK continually demonstrates spirit of innovation and development expertise. Because products like the new rotary servo valve and the new locking cylinder in quick-coupler systems for construction machinery cannot be compared with any previous conventional products on the market. These two new products take WEBER-HYDRAULIK another step further along the path of evolving from component supplier to system provider to respond even more flexibly to customer and market requirements. The products will be presented for the first time at this year’s bauma, the World’s Leading Trade Fair for Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines, Mining Machines, Construction Vehicles and Construction Equipment, held from 24 to 30 October.

The locking cylinder for quick-coupler systems was developed in collaboration with Rädlinger Maschinen- und Stahlbau GmbH. A quick-coupler system makes it possible to automatically change various attachments for construction machinery without the driver having to get out or requiring the help of another person. The newly developed locking technology prevents any improperly locked attachment from releasing itself from the construction machinery and helps avoid accidents. The product itself is additionally fitted with an optomechanical locking indicator, which shows whether the locking bolts are extended. The mechanical self-retaining safety claw makes losing the attachment impossible, ensuring that the current EU safety regulations are complied with.

“The mechanical locking unit and the self-retaining locking mechanism prevent the attachment from falling off. In addition, both locking bolts and the safety claw are each controlled by separate cylinders, so they are independent from each other”, says Markus Sperr, Key Account Manager at WEBER-HYDRAULIK.

The new solution is a purely hydraulic system. This offers the advantage that the product can also be used in construction machinery without electronic monitoring equipment. Moreover, the replacement of the product has been made easier for the customers. If servicing is required, the hydraulic unit can be replaced on site within just a few minutes. The system is controlled by only two lines, making the product easy to service and maintain.

You can find the new technology fitted in the quick-coupler system of Rädlinger Maschinen- und Stahlbau GmbH at the bauma at the outdoor booth FN. 1020/7 or at the indoor booth A6.212.

The new rotary servo valve by WEBER-HYDRAULIK

The second product is the new rotary servo valve by WEBER-HYDRAULIK, which can be used wherever a hydraulic frequency is needed, for example to generate vibrations through pressure pulsation. It is particularly suited in cases where different frequencies are necessary for different applications or variable frequencies are required within one application. Depending on the customer’s requirements, up to 60 vibrations per second can be reached, although the frequency can still be increased as necessary for the specific application.

Existing solutions are unreliable in terms of frequency, are powered by a hydraulic motor instead of an electric motor and are also dependent on hydraulic pumps and volume flow controllers. The new product also eliminates the need for tubing and features a proportionally adjustable maximum pressure of the pressure pulses. The amplitude can thus be limited via the shaft speed and the proportional pressure control valves.

“Since our new rotary servo valve comes without peripheral hydraulic equipment, it is more compact in size, making it suitable for installation in confined spaces”, says Dr. Johannes Gattinger, Technical Product Owner & Project Leader at WEBER-HYDRAULIK. “The customer merely needs to provide the electrical power and saves the high assembly costs commonly associated with using many individual components from several suppliers. We offer our customers a one-stop system solution”, adds Robert Baumann, Head of Sales Segment Construction. Moreover, putting into service involves little effort. The system has an integrated motor controller, so it only needs to be connected to the power supply. The speed can be easily and precisely adjusted via CAN bus.
