Successful open day and apprentice workshop of WEBER-HYDRAULIK GMBH at the Losenstein site

Opening of the expanded Competence Center for Rescue Equipment

Losenstein, 2nd November 2023.    On the occasion of the opening of the new building at the Losenstein site, WEBER-HYDRAULIK invited to a celebration for employees and an open day. Numerous visitors enjoyed exciting insights into a top company in the Enns Valley.

On October 20, WEBER-HYDRAULIK GMBH in Losenstein celebrated the opening of its expanded Competence Center for Rescue Equipment with the theme “A Night in Traditional Costume”. Around 300 employees and 50 guests of honor were present at the event and spent a festive and convivial evening together in dirndl and lederhosen. On the following open day, the newly built Competence Center of the WEBER RESCUE SYSTEMS brand was presented to the public for the first time.

At the same time, the in-house training workshop of WEBER-HYDRAULIK GMBH opened its doors. Interested students were able to find out on site about apprenticeships at the hydraulics specialist. Those interested in technical training had the opportunity to try out turning, soldering and milling for themselves at the hands-on stations.

“We expected a lot of interest from the region, but this rush of visitors nevertheless overwhelmed us and shows how much we are appreciated with our products and, above all, as an employer,” says Managing Director Bernhard Obermayr. More than 2,000 people were impressed by the new production halls and were particularly enthusiastic about the new panorama restaurant and the breathtaking view from the roof terrace there. The new building covers an area of 6,000 square meters and includes modern offices and production areas for the sales and production of rescue equipment, a well-equipped service department and a training center for emergency services, where vehicles can also be specifically deformed for the most realistic training possible.

In addition to an insight into the manufacture of the products, the Laussa and Losenstein fire departments demonstrated the various rescue equipment in action. Those who wanted to help themselves could register as a donor in a stem cell typing campaign in cooperation with the Red Cross, giving them the chance to save lives.

The youngest visitors were well entertained by a table magician, a bouncy castle and a games bus. All in all, it was an exciting and eventful open day that provided an insight into one of the region’s leading companies.

But Losenstein is not the only site the company is investing in. “As a hydraulics manufacturer today, we need to have in-depth expertise in a wide range of areas,” says Christine Grotz, managing partner and CEO of the WEBER-HYDRAULIK Group. This begins with sensor technology and electrification and continues with software and extends to functional safety and cyber security. These are all technologies in which WEBER-HYDRAULIK has invested and expanded its expertise. The resulting product developments as well as new, state-of-the-art production lines will make a decisive contribution to the further development of the family-owned company’s products and systems.
